I’ve made some recent changes to Immortal Type that shouldn’t affect you as a free subscriber much at all. Though depending on how much you lurk, it just might.
That said, anyone new visiting Immortal Type shall be greeted with locked entry, until they sign up with a valid email.
There are a number of reasons for this. One—it eliminates lurkers. I have over 1,300 unique reads happening per month, with 46 subscribers. Zero paid.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that per se, but the fact that so few respond to the posts in comments, or forward this along to others, refusing to leave likes, doesn’t feel like equal exchange for the effort I put in to make this publication possible. After two years of grinding, it’s bittersweet. Harvest should have come by now. Call me ungrateful. That’s okay.
